Now, xAI (formerly Twitter)'s artificial intelligence division has joined the trend by launching its own generative AI chatbot named GROK. GROK is based on GROK-1, X's exclusive LLM technology that has been under development for the past four months. Unlike popular chatbots like Google Bard and ChatGPT, GROK boasts several distinct features.

X Enters the Arena with GROK

X announced that GROK, inspired by ‘Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy,' is designed to provide answers to a wide range of inquiries and, intriguingly, even propose relevant questions.

According to X, one notable distinction is that GROK has a playful and humorous approach when responding to user questions, displaying a hint of rebellion. Additionally, it is suggested that GROK is willing to address sensitive or contentious topics that other models like GPT-4 or Google PaLM might shy away from. Although the exact meaning of "spicy" is uncertain, it could be understood as an effort to cover more controversial inquiries.

Furthermore, GROK has the capability to navigate through X (Twitter) and gather up-to-date information from the platform for appropriate responses. It is the most essential  to note that the chatbot is still in its early stage of beta and has not reached the final stage of the product yet.

X highlights that their goal for GROK is to be a valuable research assistant, assisting users in efficiently accessing relevant information, processing data, and generating fresh ideas. Moreover, the company aims to develop AI tools that are beneficial for people from diverse backgrounds and political

"We attempted to sign up for the chatbot but found that it is currently only accessible to X Premium/verified users on a waitlist. Unfortunately, the website mentioned that the tool is unavailable in our location, India."
